Analog Horror is darker than coal...
Analog Horror (or Tranalog Horror, or Analpeg Horror), is a genre of horror based on the "Found Footage" genre. All Analog Horror attempts to make itself look like it was on VHS regardless of the year the story takes place in, or where the "footage" would have originated from, even doe 90% of tranalog horror fans are too young to remember VHS tapes. It was popularized on Jewtube during 2020 after the Mandela Catalogue took off. Most Analog Horror attempts to copy the Mandela Catalogue, always throwing in some ghost or demon tape possession or something.

Tranalog horror usually tries to "scare" its viewers by showing a spooky face with hyper-realistic eyes, this is due to analog horror fans being autists who are scared of eye contact. Other tatics include distorted bodies and faces because of the heckin uncanny valley or something, another trope is use of long awkward silences to build a spine tingling, slow burn atmosphere. Fans used to praise analog horror for the lack of jumpscares (even doe the aforementioned things are basically shittier jumpscares).
The story often includes ghosts whining about how much it sucks to be dead and characters complaining about how much their gender dysphoria gets triggered cus the monsters are evil chud rapists[they just are, okay?]. Also all the footage is captured in VHS tapes cus the new generation think it's scary, just like when gen x started making horror stories about how scary black and white films were. Some millenials are afraid of Vhs too cus it reminds xhem about how scary it was to be a kid and wake up in the sofa on the middle of the night to a vhs tape playing redditbob or something along those lines, also cause it reminds them how scared they are of being adults and that they will never be kids again.
Artstyle and Tropes[edit | edit source]
The selling part of Analog Horror is most definitely the general aesthetic the medium holds, this was quite apparent from the getgo. While some play very hard into the FNAF lore style murder/soul/ghost/demon mystery for the career "FOTM internet horror explainer" youtubers to feed off of in exchange for giving the project and producer more attention and noteriety around children too scared to watch the actual film, many more lean more heavily into that milion dollar look that gets all of the creep clicks from fascinated spergfolk and of course, children. There is reason to think that there is something very "algo ridey" about this artstyle, namely because specific artistic tropes are near ubiquitously copied across the entire online library of this genre. The most notable of which are the (patent pending) Tranalog Horror Eyes. These eyes are either the Mandella Catalogue style, being glaring distorted eyes that use minimalism to evoke the unnerving feeling of being stared at from the darkness, or the Walten Files look of tiny eyes in dark sockets, which heavily evoke the uncanny valley look. Then there is the second aspect of the character design aesthetic, being literal photoshop warp tooling of characters to make them look uncanny. These specific character design tropes are utterly done to death in the medium, especially in cringey and goofy beginner attemtps at analog horror made by children, so the "scare" factor of these design tropes are greatly diminished from what they may have once been.
There are also many annoyingly consistent tropes outside of character design such as the use and abuse of the emergency broadcast, the same few TTS voices etc, and expositional PSAs.
Slopification[edit | edit source]
Tranalog Horror is known for being slop. This is because it was a giant internet trend that catered to aesthetic obsessed autistic millenials and zoomers, and thus mascot horror children as well, as both demographics share the same media taste. Tranalog horror shares a venn diagram esque relationship with mascot horror, in the sense that while both being their own independent things, you will notice that they are intrensically connected on the community level and frequently borrow from eachother. Such examples of mascot horror bleeding into analog horror are popular installments such as the sonic.exe anlalog horror seiries "Needlemouse" the FNAF inspired "Walten Files", the analog horror series about the actual FNAF, and many others.
Its important to realize it is to be expected that a genre with main premise of calling back to the childhoods of the generations that invented said genre, would frequently employ childhood media and cartoons, which combined with the horror element brew into what is quite literally the definition of mascot horror, and thus said genre (analog horror) attracts the mascot horror fan demographics. These demographics comprise majorly of both autistic manchildren trying to avoid moving on from cartoons by making them "scary and dark", and actual children who quite amusingly follow the same logic as the manchildren, being too scared and too young to get into adult horror media, and thus gravitating to horror cartoons to feel like the big kids. Both children and the manchildren, fascinated by analog horror shows about their favorite mascots and their respective tie in FNF mods, are driven to attempt to make their own analog horror, and thus the ignition key of the slop engine is turned, never to stop running again. The market is filled with the ameteur slop the autism engine poops out and the genre becomes the oversaturated joke it is today. Such oversaturation breeds resentment of the genre as a whole, hence it's fall from grace.

Xe also has re-posted Mr. Beast tweets, Giggly Goonclown had connections to Mr. Beast, but due to Mr. Beast's popularity across the internet- this is likely just an attempt to get noticed. Due to lack of information regarding exactly what kind of person Darian is, xe cannot be accused of any crimes outside of just being basic.
