/biz/ - Business and Finance is a board on the website 4chan. It was opened by Moot on February 13, 2014 in order to move crypto threads from /g/.

History[edit | edit source]

Some many, many years ago this board used to be useful, and actually had useful business advice, especially towards topics like crypto. However, this all changed on January 2021, when a bunch of Redditors on r/WallStreetBets joined together to short squeeze GameStop and other stocks for retarded, dying companies. Combined with the resurgence of Bitcoin and Dogecoin, this lead /biz/ to transform into the shithole it is today, a place for pajeets to rugpull retards with awful crypto scams.

The end[edit | edit source]

On April 13, 2024, the jannies of 4cuck have announced one of the worst changes to have ever happened to the website, mandated email verification in order to use /biz/.[1] Their supposed reasoning is to stop the shills on /biz/, Even though rangebanning India would have been infinitely more effective as spending all day cleaning up shitcoin scams was just too hard of work for the poor jannies. However, this reasoning is complete bullshit, as just a few weeks prior 4cuck removed the ability to see how many IPs were posting in a thread, a useful way to see how many shills and samefags were in a given thread. You can't just use any email either, you can only use emails from specific domains, such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Yandex, and ProtonMail. The only way to circumvent email verification is to, of course, give gookmoot your money and buy a 4cuck pass. As you can tell, the real reason this is being implemented has nothing to do with stopping scams or bots in the slightest. At best, Hiro is being a kike and wants to force more and more people to throw money at a site he gives almost no fucks about, and at worst, our benevolent federal agencies want to datamine 4cuck's userbase even further.

This measure is likely to not be /biz/-exclusive for very long, the email verification page mentions that this "security" measure is for "some boards". Expect to have to give your email to post on controversial boards like /pol/ very soon and to post on the majority of the boards not too long after.

A truthnuke about Hiro's history with datamining[edit | edit source]

Hiroyuki Nishimura is a master dataminer. Sometime in 2013 a massive leak happened that exposed the names, addresses, and credit card numbers of thousands of Japanese 2channel paypigs. Now why does an anonymous website need all of this information? Well it turns out that Hiro was linked up with a company called Hotlink, which is some gay company dedicated to making search engines for "marketing" purposes. In addition, Hiro sold them the right to janny 2channel, allowing them to sweep up any posts criticizing them and their clients, which included major Japanese political parties. After being exposed for doing this, Ron Watkins (the admin of 2channel) ejected Hiro from his own website, forcing him to make another 2channel where he does the exact same thing.[2]

In short, DO NOT give Hiro your email address. DO NOT give Hiro your money. If you ABSOLUTELY want to raid /biz/ for some insane reason, create a throwaway email using either Yandex or Proton as neither of these services ask for a phone number and DO NOT use the email for anything else. You have been warned.

Fallout[edit | edit source]

In just a matter of days, the PPD (posts per day) of /biz/ dropped from around 11000 down to a mere 3000, a drop of about 70%. Much like the exiled kwayteens after The Great Soyset, many former /biz/ users have sought refuge in /bant/. It is unknown whether these refugees will stick around or not. There is a chance these threads on /bant/ are being astroturfed by jannies in order to accelerate making email verification sitewide, but that's just a heccin conspiracy theory and couldn't be true in the slightest.

On April 17 at approximately 17:03 UTC, /biz/ was opened on soyjak.party in order to capture market share from 4chan.
