CobsonTale
CobsonTale is a woahjak themed RPG similar to Undertale or Deltarune made in Unity and functions as the sequel to SootQuest. It contains 3 hours of A24 genre defining spine tingling gameplay. Its journey follows a soyboy who moves to a small town and meets one resident "Cobson" nicknamed the "Lawnmower man" and learns about his impact on the small town while he goes to peruse the gems rumored to hidden in it with him. There are 3 main boss fights and a 4th secret one. It was created by Snarky.Snappy Studios in cooperation with Studio Massa and r/Markeplier as a remake of the game created by Lee Goldson.

Plot[edit | edit source]
In the eerie, atmospheric world of CobsonTale, players step into the shoes of our protagonist, the soyboy. Fresh off the heels of their adventures in SootQuest, the soyboy relocates to a quaint, enigmatic small town, hoping for a peaceful respite. However, peace is far from what they find.
The town, shrouded in mist and mystery, holds whispers of long-forgotten secrets and hidden gems that lure treasure hunters from all over. Among its peculiar inhabitants is the legendary Cobson, affectionately nicknamed the "Lawnmower Man." Cobson, a grizzled yet enigmatic figure, has a reputation that precedes him—known for his deep ties to the town and its uncanny happenings.

Act 1: Arrival and Discovery[edit | edit source]
The soyboy's journey begins as they step off the bus into the misty town square. The ambient music shifts from eerie strings to a haunting piano melody as they explore the deserted streets. They soon encounter Cobson, who is found meticulously tending to his immaculate lawn, a symbol of order in the chaotic town. Cobson, intrigued by the soyboy's presence, takes them under his wing. Together, they embark on a quest to unearth the hidden gems rumored to be hidden in the deep dungeon that's under the town. Along the way, the soyboy learns about Cobson's past and the strange occurrences that plague the town.
Act 2: The Hidden Past[edit | edit source]
As they delve deeper into the town's secrets, the soyboy and Cobson uncover ancient tomes and cryptic messages hinting at a forgotten civilization that once thrived there. The first boss fight looms as they encounter an undead guardian, testing the soyboy's courage and strength. This battle sets the tone for the trials ahead, combining elements of strategy, quick reflexes, and clever puzzle-solving. With each discovery, the bond between the soyboy and Cobson grows. They learn that Cobson's late wife, a historian, dedicated her life to protecting the town's secrets from falling into the wrong hands. Her tragic fate is linked to the town's curse, a curse that now threatens the soyboy and Cobson.
Act 3: The Unraveling[edit | edit source]
The town's atmosphere grows increasingly tense as they approach the second boss, a twisted embodiment of the town's dark history. This battle requires the soyboy to navigate a labyrinth library filled with traps and monsters, culminating in a dramatic showdown in the heart of the town's tunnel system. Through their journey, they meet various townsfolx, each with their own stories and connections to the town's past. These interactions provide valuable clues and deepen the narrative, revealing that the gems are more than just treasures—they hold the key to breaking the town's curse.

OS: A 64x computer with Windows 7 or Higher and C++ Redistributables installed (NOTE: The game might be flagged as a virus by defender as it was ported from the original production on Linux which requires hardware level emulation)
