Dilbert
Dilbert is a DEAD MEME | |||
Pay your respects here |
Dilbert is an American comic strip written and illustrated by Clott Sadams, first published on April 16, 1989. It is known for its satirical office humor about a white-collar, micromanaged office with engineer Dilbert as the title character. It has spawned dozens of books, a cartoon, a video game, and hundreds of themed merchandise items. Back then, Dilbert has seen a surge of popularity on the sharty, with Dilbert posters forming a rivalry with fans of Ongezellig. Though Dilbert has many supporting characters like Alice (not to be confused with Alicia, a variant of a similar name), Loud Howard, and Dogbert, the most popular characters on the 'Party in terms of edits are Dilbert, Wally, and the Pointy-Haired Boss. The comic has been discontinued from jewspapers after its creator streamed on the 'tube mentioning that he hates niggers. It's has been luckily revived on X as "'bert Reborn."
Proto-Soyjak themes present in Dilbert[edit | edit source]
Interestingly, despite being made decades before soyjaks or even the Wojak meme were made, Dilbert has many ideas, themes, and characterization choices that are comparable to soyposting. The most prominent of these are:
-Dilbert, Dogbert, Catbert, and Wally all notably wear glasses, a trait almost all 'jaks have.
-Wally is bald, yet another trait most soyjaks share.
-The way the Elbonian people are comically different in appearance from the main cast can be comparable to how the Impish Soyjak Ears variant portrays Swedish people. What furthers this connection is that the fictional country of Elbonia is stated to be European.
-The first episode of the Dilbert animated series shows Dilbert supposedly turning into "The Chicken Man", which combined with his anxiety over the name of a project can be seen as a parallel to schizophrenia.
-The side character Loud Howard is shown to talk very loudly with his mouth agape. This is similar to the gaping-mouthed "soyface" soyjaks are known for.

Dilbert compared to Ongezellig[edit | edit source]
On October 21st, 2022, a Chud on Soyjak.Party made a thread explaining why Dilbert is superior to 'Zellig. He argued that Dilbert was superior to Ongezellig by noting its longevity, witty and timeless satire, and relatability, while criticizing Ongezellig's dated and boring nature. This post was praised by Dilbert fans, and hated by Ongezellig fans. However, it seems this post has made many more Chuds aware of Dilbert, and thus many more Dilbert threads have popped up afterwards.
12. Oz Mouse is better than both THOUGH
Accusations of samechudding[edit | edit source]
Some people claim that Dilbert threads are only being made by one Soyteen in an attempt to force a meme. These accusations have been debunked by Snopes, Politifact, and the Associated Press, and you WILL take your meds if you believe this.
