SoyDoom (aka Soom and Doom: Project Soy) was a community-driven effort to produce a Soyjak-themed Doom mod. It currently exists as a a series of unfinished PK3's. It's infamous for the efforts towards the project being tarnished by a 'cord user.

Creation

Where it all started.

On January 21st 2023, a chud suggested the idea of creating a Soyjak.party themed Doom mod. This sparked the creation of a series of doom wads. Sadly, many of the wads and threads are seemingly lost to time due to many catalog wipes that occured on /soy/.

quakeorsomething.pk3

This is the first wad to feature several features, and most soyDoom wads fork from it. Its versions range from 1.0^{unofficial name for the original} to 1.5.

SCHOOL.wad

This is the first difference you can notice. If this grass field is gone, you're playing the first version.

First appeared in FIRSTMAP.pk3. This is the first mission-style map to be a part of the soyDoom library. It features Badfinger's hit 'Baby Blue' in midi form. There are two versions. You can tell these versions apart at the start by judging on whether the entrance has a grass field or not. The second version also allows you to get a Super Shotgun, while the first has a Berserk powerup in its place. Subsequent pk3s mostly feature the first version.

quakeorsomething_Thrembo1.6

This is the successor to quakeorsomething.pk3. The 'thrembo' part is named after the Matrix' DemoThrembo.pk3, and supposedly merges the thread and the 'trix forks.

SOOMBETA_2.0

The most recent release of soyDoom. The Chud who released this version said they were going on a hiatus. No one has posted updated wads in lieu of this 'teen.

Latest build. Includes five maps. The first and last one don't have an exit, so the changemap command is advised to keep your weapons past map 01. You can download it here.

Content

Personaltest2.2 has two classes, SoyakGuy and ChudjakGuy, who both have a set of weapons and some shared weapons. There are also custom enemies. The mod can be configured to accommodate playing the original set of maps or a different set through the zscript.txt, by adding or deleting the two forwardslashes at the very bottom line.

Custom Powerups

Nuts Sphere

“	I am become death	”
Player upon receiving the Nuts Sphere

Increases firing speed and alters weapon behavior. For example, it turns shotguns automatic.

Weapons

Tec-9

Chud's pistol. Nice for ganking troonimps.

Switch Pistol

Soyak's pistol. Launches coins at your enemies.

Meds Shotgun

A pump-action shotgun that uses meds as ammo. Has three fire modes:

• Default - Hitscan that acts like a regular shotgun.
• Black Pill - Bouncing projectile pill that bounces around. Has odd behavior.
• Soylent Green - Somewhat useful for gathering health. Only works on a few enemies :(

SuperSproker

Another meds-fueled shotgun. It injects Sproke into its ammo, which increases damage. It can launch its barrels using a mentos fruitjak.

Coal Launcher

Launches explosive coal. Alt fire prepares a brimstone shot.

Soylent Rocket Launcher

Launches Soylent rockets.

Diamond Rifle

Thrembo-Six approved weapon. Shoots plasma diamonds. Alt fire: Shoots coals, just like the Coal Launcher, but lacks the brimstone shot. It's also more difficult to acquire.

TND SMG

Soyak's SMG. Has a high fire rate, but less accurate than AR1488.

AR1488

Chud's assault rifle. Has a lower fire rate, but more accurate than the TND SMG.

Katana

Soyak's katana.

National Socialist Weapon

Chud's weapon. He can throw swastikas or cut down plebians with chainsaw-like evil magic.

Carbon Rifle

Soyak's sniper rifle. Can also be used as a plasma-fueled cannon.

G11

Thrembo-Five approved weapon. Chud's sniper rifle. Can also be used as an assault rifle, with risk of overheating.

Squirrel Cage

Bring some furry friends named Jack into the battle.

BFG9000

Vanilla BFG.

Custom Enemies

The mod changes some of the vanilla enemies, and adds some custom enemies as well.

Coalita / Soylita

Annoying girl that gets close to you. Her allergic reaction to damage causes her to coal up the map. You can leave her be, with no effect to kill count.

Chudcoaler

Chudgunner that uses a coal launcher.

Thrembo Six Soldier

“	I'm going to show you how the cookie crumbles!	”
ThremboGuy

American soldier that uses the Diamond Rifle. He likes to act badass, and moves around while attacking you. He can also use the coal barrel just like you.

Squirreljak

Fast and annoying squirrel. Comes in Red and Grey varieties. He might carry a grasshopper you can eat for your worries.

Dancing Swede

Weird guy that flies towards and collides into you.

Labo Cart Soyak

Weirdo that plays in his cart and shoots coins.

Soystein

Unfinished mini-boss. He throws black pills and calls the Old Guard in his battles.

They use the forbidden pill as ammo. They never show up to the cafeteria, so their co-workers commonly assume that they are always fasting… it is quite the opposite.

Fingerboy

Deadly monster that every other soyjak fears. If only he had a weakness…

Maps

School / Barcade

Undercooked map that uses class specific spawns. Go through the Barcade as Soyak, or go through the School as Chud. There's a park that only Soyak can access, but not much else is beyond it. It's advised to use the changemap command (changemap MAP02) when you reach a dead end.

Mental Asylum

Open-ended map where you need to activate at least three Sproke pumps to progress. Includes a nice canyon and the incomplete Sprokestein miniboss.

Make a dramatic or tactical entry, and run and gun through the mall. This is where your opposition gets serious.

Controversy

Matrix Server

>As of now the Matrix team has stopped using the Matrix for anything other than version archival and plans to merge versions with the thread.

On February 2nd, allegations of tranny shenanigans were directed towards the Project Soy Matrix Server. This is due to a near ubiquitous trend of moving sharty projects off site being hijacked and influenced by sex pests and the like. Several soyteens claimed they were banned from the matrix server for trolling and frograider demoralization. This lead to every general since being populated with trolls. Before the 'trix got deleted, Janny made a decision to move one of the threads to /incel/ because the project "Seems to be mostly a private discord"

A Chud created a thread on /q/, asking janitors to delete posts and ban users in the Doom general. They have claimed to have never been a part of the 'trix. There is one confirmed ban to come out of this.

The Nusoyteen

Main Page: The Nusoyteen

The Nusoyteen (aka Arizona, aka Horus on the doomcord) was the leader of the now defunct Matrix server, and the creator and former main editor of this wiki article. When the controversy section was added, he used the "revert" button a lot. During Soydoom's fall, he was often accused of whining to Janny, samefagging, or deleting his own OP, by the project's detractors and trolls. Similar to the Schizo, it is often difficult to pinpoint whether it is The Nusoyteen doing a particular thing or not due to the anonymous nature of the Sharty.

The Schizo

The Schizo is a certain poster that Arizona datamined and identified. He is the most vocal anti-Soydoom poster. He can either be considered a mindbroken gem killer or an anti-cord hero. He was easily identifiable by the limited rotation of images he uses and ESL typing style. Tactics he uses include samefagging, falseflagging, creating anti-SoyDoom threads, comparing the project to Reddit, calling the project coal, making bad suggestions, et cetera. He is most likely not a frogchud, because he has been observed on at least one occasion to insult a frogposter for using "reverse psychology"

Despite the Schizo poisoning his own well with copious amounts of samefagging, there are a handful of actual detractors of the project. The use of a Seethe-o-Meter makes it easier to discern which is which. The Laughing Frog Cabal has also been involved in trolling the threads. There is a confirmed sighting of a frogcuck in this thread.

Very shortly after the last proper soyDoom thread on /soy/ fell of the log, the Schizo has made a couple of threads asking soyteens to "CUI" this very wiki page, and every soyDoom thread on the party. No one listened to the Schizo's orders, and he stopped posting the thread after the second or third time.

Post-Matrix

A few days after the controversy, the Matrix team planned a return to the threads, and to transform the server an archive. The plans quickly dissipated, and the 'trix got deleted. This was all due to internal conflict that happened between developers and the leader, and due to pressure from the soy community.

Even after the Matrix was denounced and deleted, the damage has already been done. The project has been associated with 'cord drama, frogniggers, and lolcows. The Soy Community was divided in opinion on the project. Some thought of it as gemmish, while others thought it was coal. However, what was left of the project got cosigned to obscurity within weeks. The oldfags who remembered it lamented over the death of the project.

Death

After the Matrix controversy, all efforts towards the project were concentrated within a single thread /tech/, later /sci/. One dedicated Chud posted updates, all the way to personaltest2.2.pk3. When he stopped developing the project, it finally died for good.

Revival

Over a year after this project start, controversy, and death, some 'teens have begun to coordinate once again to see SoyDoom into reality. With the shlog as a cannon alternative to the matrix, it seems likely to avoid its prior downfall. Currently a development thread has been created on the shlog.
